a solution for leftovers

This is a Tomato mango steak salad i made. Leftover steak, mangoes, tomatoes and some Extra virgin olive oil (you can remove the oil if you're a fitness buff and substitute it with calamansi juice or lemon juice to add some flavor.) Dice, mince and even you can grate all the ingredients (depending on your preference) and mix them all up. Serve and enjoy.

It's kinda awful for me to throw some delish food just because they are leftovers of last night's meal. Sometimes food in the fridge pile up because of the leftovers left not eaten. For this problem, I have a solution. reuse food and remake them using some proper techniques. Well, these are some of the ideas i have.

1. Think of taste differences in reusing food items. If the leftover is kinda salty, partner it with another salty one for the taste to remain. combining salty with sour foods and sweet food with sour ones (sweet and sour) are good. but combining salty ones with sweet ones, I would not recommend it.

2. Desserts are good if you put some chocolate on top. It's a safe way to make your dessert taste better. If you have leftover bread, Melt some choco chips and viola! you have a chocolate dip. If you have left over cupcakes, try putting some choco ice cream, It would feel like your eating Ice cream cake.

3. If you have veggies, try mixing it with some freshly cooked meat. It gives new flavor to the vegetables (people prefers meat over veggies)

4. If you have leftover meats (fried and barbecued, without much sauce). Add some zing into it. add some mangoes, tomatoes, lettuce, make it into a salad. sometimes some sauce from the leftover meal is good to be a dressing (just a little bit, we don't want to overdo things and make it the same recipe just like before).

life is like a great meal. It is composed of wonderful ingredients we call experiences, made through different processes we call growth and made by the Chef we call God. i'm an amateur cook and i would like to share some of my favorite recipes and some experiments. I only judge base on a personal preference. I believe that good food comes from a good heart.
