When traveling, it's convenient and also it is good to really bring your own food. sometimes, there may be no bus stops and if there are, you may experience "over-pricing". I was able to experience this one a while ago. I didn't have any food to eat. so i decided to buy a burger from the "burger man". i chose a cheese burger, also a bottle of distilled water. I gave a 500 peso bill and he gave me 420 peso change. I unwrapped the burger and to my surprise I saw a very thin slice of cheese and a 15 peso worth of burger patty. at a normal price the meal would've been around 15-25 buy-one-take-one pricing. but the bus stop prices made it double (considering the price of the bottled water also included in the 80 peso price). I thought to myself, next time i'll go for my usual package of snacks while traveling.
In the past, my plastic bag full of food when I travel is composed of a bar of chocolate, two bags of sour and cream and cheese flavored potato chips, a bottle of water, a pack of cookies, and a handful of candies. this pack makes me energized throughout the travel and also prevents me from overeating when lunch comes. The caloric content of these are at a high dose so i suggest you can share it to a companion or maybe if your traveling alone, you may look at the pack's nutritional pack and compute some.
To prevent over pricing, buy your snacks at a separate time before traveling. God bless on your next trip!
