Real Living

As I was reading the passages in Mathew 16:21-28 the passage that struck me most is the passage that had stated to carry our own cross. Indeed that acknowledging and trusting Christ to come into our lives is the way to be saved. We must lose ourselves in God so that we can live. However, the changed life must follow after the receiving part. One must come in front of God and then when he became a son or daughter he or she must manifest the glory of God through the things that person is doing.
A good example that can be cited is the manifestation of excellence in the academic performance of Christian Students. We as Christians must have the desire to excel and not just to pass the things that were given to us by the professors. We must exude the abilities that are associated to excellence like industriousness, patience and enthusiasm.
For years I had been studying very much but in my case I still find that I am not that secured in the grades I’m going to get. In other words, I am not sure if I will be having a high score or the opposite. But as I was dwelling in the Christian realm, others say that in order for us to manifest the excellence in the aspects of our lives we must be dependent on the grace of God alone. We must not look into what we can do to excel but rather what God can do to the things he gave us for his glory to manifest. What can we do to manifest a glorious life? In the first place we were not glorious and not exhibiting the perfect life. Glory can only be seen from someone that was created glorious. God is glorious and through him we can be.
Now the question here is what is dependence and what are the practical ways to be dependent upon God? Well, we always see the theories and accept the knowledge that other people present but when it comes to application of the knowledge we had gathered or acquired we are confused and not that giving much attention. A good example is in class of biology. When we discussed about the photosynthetic ability of plants and the process were all amazed but after we find it hard to apply what we learn. We never ask the plant on what stage it is undergoing during that processes. And we never dissect the plant as part of our daily lives. But we care and water them. Here involves the application. We need to know from the process the raw materials that the plant needs in order to photosynthesize. We also need to provide the nutrients for the proper growth and maintenance of the plants. Also from the understanding of the photosynthesis process we can infer the various physical things that will help the process undergo at a normal phase namely sunlight and water.
This is also real in our walk with God. Now we know that we must be dependent on the grace of God how then can we manifest the abundant life? Well, for starters we can read the bible and pray. Then we can look at the various things that God wants us to do. Let us dwell on living a righteous life, not lying nor cheating nor coveting from the neighbor. Also, sharing the word to other people (Great commission, Mathew 28:16-20) and involving oneself in a church. It is hard work in being a son of God. God did not tell us that we will have a comfortable life when we become sons and daughters but we will live an abundant life. A life with him. Also from my introduction that we need to carry our crosses is what it means when we become the children of God. A lot of changes must be done in our personalities but little by little we must change and a consistent following of God can become a good start.

life is like a great meal. It is composed of wonderful ingredients we call experiences, made through different processes we call growth and made by the Chef we call God. i'm an amateur cook and i would like to share some of my favorite recipes and some experiments. I only judge base on a personal preference. I believe that good food comes from a good heart.
