The Gospel never grows old

It has been 2000 years ago since the events of the bible happened. Though this is the stories and stuffs the bible says stays true to the lives of people. A lot had seen the truths in others lives, some personally experienced it and a lot knows it. But the mystery here is that why do we believe in this book? This is not to criticize a 2000 yr old artifact as we may call it but rather a deeper appreciation of what had happened in the past.
The bible is the only book that had surpassed the test of time; some speculate that it was because of the guidance of God that it was kept safe for hundreds of years, this I heard from other people and also I thought of as well. The focus of the bible is the coming of Jesus Christ , he living a perfect life, gave up his life up for the sins of all and was buried and rose from the dead 3 days later (1 Corinthians 15:1-4) This was a great sacrifice that he had made for the likes of us. We do very much not deserve for his love and sacrifice for we are very sinful. we are stubborn and never follow his commandments for righteous living, we covet our neighbors, we lust when we see the opposite sex and even the same sex now in this time of age, some kills, others use the name of the lord in vain, some mock him, some even turn their backs from him (atheists). But even though this is, he still made this undeserved grace to be upon us. The only thing we must do is to acknowledge his Godship and his sovereignty over our lives so that we can experience more of his love.
I read a book once by Max Lucado “While the angels were silent”. It was a great book. It explained the last week of Jesus here on earth. He said that he humbled himself as he was fast approaching his death. From that statement we can logically say that our God is humble and humble means that you think of others more than yourself and in humility there is love. Love for others. Though he knew that Judas would betray him and peter would deny him, he still washed their foot and served them. This was great love. To wash the dirty calloused foot of the disciples is a very big thing. Also in the book, Jesus dined with sinners, namely tax collectors. In the olden days as Max Lucado stated, dining was more than just eating, in the Cultural aspect of the action it is sharing of lives with the ones you dine with. The Pharisees then were so angry by this act of Jesus for he was eating with them, for the one who was called the messiah was dinning with the unclean ones and sharing his perfect and holy life to the imperfect ones. This also illustrates great love, a love that is unconditional. He did not pick who he was going to love, he loved everyone.
The gospel is old and yet conveys a message that never grows old. That everyone that must be living and will live in the future must look at and internalize what it says. Head knowledge of these truths and concepts are not enough, but placing our faith, living a changed life, sharing it to other people and most of all building a personal relationship with God, rowing in faith must be seen in all of us. It’s hard work really but our harvest is very much bigger than we expect it would be.

life is like a great meal. It is composed of wonderful ingredients we call experiences, made through different processes we call growth and made by the Chef we call God. i'm an amateur cook and i would like to share some of my favorite recipes and some experiments. I only judge base on a personal preference. I believe that good food comes from a good heart.
